KCCI Channel 8 in Des Moines recently covered FPCI’s partnership with the Polk County Health Department to support the distribution of free supplies through a harm reduction vending machine.
We’re thrilled to see how successful the harm reduction vending machine pilot has been in its first six months. This machine has already distributed thousands of essential items, from naloxone and gun locks to emergency contraception, condoms, and other sexual and reproductive health products, helping people take care of themselves and stay safe.
The strong community response shows that meeting people where they are really works. FPCI is exploring opportunities to expand the program, and we’re seeking additional grant funding and community donations to make that possible. Every new machine means more access, more safety, and ultimately, more lives saved.
